Cost Effectiveness
VoIP phone systems are cost effetive on a variety of levels.
Bacause VoIP phone systems utilize the same physical wiring as an office computer network, there is no need for a second set of wires as was always the case with traditional phones and PBX systems. Because most VoIP IP-phones have a pass-through network port, only one network port is required per desk. Less cabling means lower installation costs and easier maintenance.
When moving a desk or phone extension, VoIP offers the ability to simply move the phone to the new location and plug it into any available network port on the same network-- and it works right away. No need to have ports rewired or to reprogram anything.
The Asterisk-based phone systems sold by Centritech run on conventional off-the-shelf hardware and thus cost less and are easier to maintain and replace parts. No proprietary hardware issues to deal with.
